Edmund Zheng

At 24 years old, Edmund Zheng has visited 55 countries, graduated from Yale, and is currently doing something no one has done before: performing live hypnosis shows in five languages across five countries in a single year, under his project ONE MIND 2026.

Growing up in Oklahoma, studying Global Affairs at Yale, then spending years moving through the world in different contexts, Edmund developed a single obsession: hypnosis. How can hypnosis transform the field of language learning? How can different cultures and societies benefit from hypnosis? What percentage of suggestibility is rooted in language versus confidence and presence? Edmund is answering these questions as he goes from country to country hypnotizing the world.

Above all, Edmund is a relentless producer and consumer of life's experiences. His path to ONE MIND 2026 has been unconventional, bringing him through a silent Vipassana meditation retreat, a month walking the Camino de Santiago without a phone, bartending in a Brazilian party hostel, studying Chinese in Taipei, an Erasmus semester in Granada, Spain, an internship in France, volunteering in the Amazon Rainforest, camping at Burning Man, performing at artist residencies in Puerto Escondido, speaking at Yale graduation, and somehow competing on the world's largest live dating show. Each experience has brought him a different state of human consciousness worth understanding.
